Jason was raised on a Texas Long Horn Ranch in Central
British Columbia. As a child he enjoyed riding horseback, camping, fishing, and exploring the many mountains, lakes and rivers. Jason has fond memories of spending time with his grandfather driving mountain trails in the remote BC wilderness where they often encountered all types of wildlife.
One of Jason’s first jobs was as a Rap Attack Fire Fighter repelling out of helicopters to be first on scene and help design fire breaks.
The adventure didn’t stop there when Jason started traveling on his own and his love of vehicles and off-roading led him to a small remote fishing village on the coast where he met his wife and started their family.
In 2016 Jason started the Overland Alberta group, and from there organized trips and events to encourage others to travel to remote locations in the province and experience Alberta at its most beautiful. To help share his passion further, Jason started a YouTube Channel in 2019.
Jason, his bride Joy, and their Adventure Pup, Kiwi, look forward to more adventuring and sharing the stories of this wild and beautiful planet.

Dave was born and raised in the Blindman River Valley right here in Alberta. After his first backpacking trip with his school as an early teenager, he was sure he had found something in the wild that would call to him for a lifetime. His other main passion was automobiles; building and customizing them to reflect his own unique identity and flair.
Later in life these passions continued to manifest themselves in a variety of ways and after backpacking through South America, he discovered the world of overland travel. This is where the marriage of his two passions, the outdoors and automobiles, would begin.
David would return to Alberta with a vision he couldn't shake and would eventually leave a career in oil and gas to pursue a career in outdoor recreation working as an assembler for Mission Overland Trailers in his hometown of Lacombe. Dave would later pursue his own vision to offer Canada an option in the truck camper space. Thus, Yucca-Pac Campers was born.
In that same time, Dave also built new relationships with others in the outdoor recreation space and went on to partner with Jason, Courtney, and Joy to build the AOA Expo. Here he could share his joy of the outdoors with the community that had given him so much, and also a place to launch his new business venture. Nearly four years later Dave continues to pursue inspiration and introduction of the outdoors to others, helping them find adventure right here in Alberta.

Growing up on an acreage outside of Edson, the woods were Courtney’s backyard and every minute possible was spent building forts, getting muddy, and playing on the ATVs. Besides that, most of her youth was focused on sports, and a lot of camping while travelling around to tournaments in the summer months. This eventually led her family to St Albert in the pursual of high competition play for both her and her brother.
It wasn’t until her mid twenties that the great outdoors really became a key component of her life again. With friends who introduced her to the offroad, off grid camping style, and travelling sparked a growing love of capturing photos of surrounding landscapes, a new lifestyle was born.
Overtime, that lifestyle has grown into one of year-round camping and hiking, and an investment into some proper camera gear. To this day
she’s still happy getting muddy, and whether it’s a mountain top or a beach, the outdoors is where Courtney spends her time rejuvenating from the day-to-day life of business ownership in the Financial Planning world.
Any time she can get in the vehicle, head off on an adventure, and end the day with a campfire and a craft beer, that’s exactly what she’s doing. Courtney hopes that sharing her stories of the great outdoors and the mental health journey will inspire others to find their happy place amongst the wild!

Joy grew up in a remote village on the coast of British Columbia surrounded by glacial-fed rivers, mountain streams and the Pacific Ocean. Countless weekends her parents would take her and her siblings hiking in the mountain ranges near their home. The thrill of seeing hidden waterfalls and feeling the solitude in the forest helped her develop an appreciation for the beauty of different landscapes and the rich scents of un-polluted nature.
Spending time with friends and neighbors involved traveling the dirt roads hollowed out by logging trucks; taking weekend flights to view the changes in the mountain and ocean scenery; learning to fish; and practicing boat and water safety.
Before moving to Alberta with her husband and children, Joy
spent many years working for the BC Forest Service, learning about Reforestation, Invasive Species, Harvesting, Controlled Burns and wildlife safety.
After raising their family, Joy joined Jason on his Overland Alberta adventures and now, with Kiwi the Adventure Pup, they plan to make travel a bigger priority in their off hours. Joy’s favorite moments in the outdoors are traveling to destinations and sharing stories around camp. Joy looks forward to meeting more of you out on the trails and off the grid.
